On 10 October, WIDE+ member GADIP – Gender And Development In Practice, in cooperation with ABF Göteborg, hosted the webinar entitled “Conflict in the Middle East: How Can Women Contribute to the Peace Process?”.
The webinar centred around the role of women in fostering peace in the Middle East, featuring feminist peace activists from Palestine and Israel.
The two webinar speakers were Eva Dalak and Dr. Elana Sztokman, who in 2024 launched the Women Ending War Podcast.
- Eva Dalak is a Palestinian Muslim woman and a distinguished international consultant with over 25 years of experience in international development, gender mainstreaming, conflict prevention, and peacebuilding. Founder of Peace Activation, a platform dedicated to supporting those affected by the Israel-Palestine conflict, fostering an environment for healing and proactive peace-building.
- Dr. Elana Sztokman is a Jewish-Israeli-American anthropologist and award-winning author. Born and bred in the Orthodox Zionist community of Brooklyn, New York. She has been living in Israel for 30 years where she has become a vocal peace activist, educator, and writer, advocating for peace and justice in the region.
