This International Capacity Building event highlights from different feminist justice perspective political challenges for addressing the climate crisis, stressing time and again that this is a social crisis. The environmental challenges posed by climate change are universal, however it exacerbates inequality, including gendered inequalities. The Capacity Buiding was held on 2 and 3 June in Vienna, Austria, 2023.

This report is part of a collaboration between WIDE+, KULU Women and Development Denmark, WIDE in Austria, GADIP in Sweden, Mundubat in Spain, GenderCC now part of Life E.v in Germany, and CSCD in Bulgaria part of the EU Erasmus+ progamee, entitled: “Gender and Climate Justice: Knowledge for Empowerment” that is financially supported by the EACEA. This project builds up tools, knowledge and methodologies for learners to upskill themselves (in groups, individually or with a teacher) in the relationships between gender inequality and the climate crisis. This includes providing tools for adult education providers. The project starts in January 2023 and will continue for three years.
