About WIDE+

WIDE+ is a European network of feminist activists, scholars and women’s rights organisations. Through our national membership-based networks and organisations across Europe, we reach around 400 associations. We promote women’s rights by analysing the systemic causes of inequality and advocating for transformative change.

Our core strengths are the scope, activism and diversity of our network. WIDE+ has members in many European countries and partners around the globe. For WIDE+, feminism is not only about challenging patriarchy. We believe many of the crises we face in Europe and beyond are driven by neo-liberal approaches that prioritise big business and privatisation over wellbeing and human rights. Work primarily done by women is still made invisible (unpaid care work) or exploited at the bottom end of the pay scale. WIDE+ promotes global and intersectional feminism.

Why intern at WIDE?

This internship is designed as a learning experience for someone who wants hands-on practice in feminist NGO communications. You will gain exposure to communications work in a European network — from day-to-day content to longer-term strategic processes — with structured supervision, feedback and space to explore ideas.

The intern will be mentored by the Communications Officer (who works part-time) and contribute to selected activities such as:

  • Content creation across social media, website and newsletter
  • Supporting development of new communications strategy
  • Supporting communication campaigns
  • Basic social media reporting

Tasks will be adapted to your skills and learning goals, and you’ll receive guidance throughout.

This internship may be especially interesting for someone who:

  • Is a student or early-career professional or interested in gender studies, international development, communication or related fields
  • Wants to learn communications in a values-driven, feminist organisation
  • Enjoys writing and/or visual content creation and wants to build a portfolio

What we offer:

  • A supportive learning environment with room for creativity and initiative
  • Weekly supervision and feedback
  • Exposure to feminist communications across different audiences (members, policymakers, civil society and the public)
  • Opportunities to develop skills and build portfolio material (where appropriate)
  • Opportunity to connect with members and explore different working groups (migration, trade, feminist movement building and economic literacy)

How to apply (no cover letter required)

Email your application to communication@wideplus.org with:

  • CV
  • Samples of communication work (visual + written) (links, PDFs, screenshots – all welcome)
  • A short note in the email body on your interest and availability and what you’d like to learn

Deadline: 1 March 2026
