Feminist Literacy: ‘Feminist approaches to Gender, Migration, and Democracy’ 2016-2018
In this two year project is manged by WIDE+ members: WIDE Austria (project leader), CEIM (Spain), Le Monde selon les Femmes (Belgium), GADIP (Sweden) and Karat Coalition (Poland). The project consists of 4 transnational partnership meetings to exchange with and learn from local organizations. This included a meeting and public session in the European Parliament during the week of International Women’s Day in Brussels, Belgium, in 2018, on the topics: ‘Migration, care and economic alternatives from a gender perspective‘and ‘Open societies within a fortress? Gender, migration and security discourses in Europe’.
The project will result in a publication on ‘Gender, Migration and Democracy’ structured around the topics of the four transnational partnership meetings.
WIDE+ is part of European Women’s Rights Alliance to call for gender budgeting in the Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF) of the EU
WIDE+, Care, DSW, EWL, IPPF European Network, One, Plan International, Kvinna till Kvinna, World Vision, WAGGS and others are working together to get the EU to concretely do a gender budgeting excersise as part of its planning for the next Mult-Annual Financial Framework. This advocacy work includes capacity building.

WIDE+ Gender and EU Trade Work
WIDE+ will continue its engagement to coordinate advocacy and collaborate with others for a feminist EU trade policy. It will build on the EP resolution to include ambitiously gender equality in EU trade resolution, which was adopted in March 2018. A full description of the activities is given here:
Increase collaborations with non-women’s rights alliances (ongoing)
WIDE+ is currently collaborating with CONCORD and the CPDE (Civil Society Partnership for Development Effectiveness).
Making feminist perspectives visible (ongoing)
WIDE+ is: a) publishing e-newsletters, b) continues updating the website and weekly if not daily use facebook twitter, and c) disseminate news and analysis swiftly within the network. WIDE+ aims at implementing a communication plan to enhance the use of online communication within and outside its network starting in 2018.
