21 November 2014 – Child marriage holds back 15 million girls a year, or about 41,000 a day, denying them fundamental rights and undermining their future. If there is no reduction in child marriage, 1.2 billion girls will marry as children by 2050 – equivalent to the entire population of India.
The resolution marks the first time that UN member states have agreed upon substantive recommendations for the steps that States, international organizations and others must take to address the problem. The resolution situates the issue firmly within the post-2015 development agenda, recognizing the need to give due consideration to the inclusion of a target to end child, early and forced marriage in the final framework.
Feminist Principles of the internet
Drafted at the Gender, Sexuality and the Internet Meeting organized by the Association for Progressive Communications, last year. In thinking through these issues, the participants at the meeting developed a set of 15 feminist principles of the internet. These are designed to be an evolving document that informs feminist work on gender and technology, as well as influences policy-making discussions when it comes to internet governance.

Beijing+20 UNECE NGO Forum Declaration
700 participants from around 350 groups, networks, and institutions and 56 countries, of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe region, gathered in Geneva from 3-5 November 2014 for the NGO Forum review of the Beijing Platform for Action. The came up with a statement of recommendations:

One women acquitted from imprisonment for miscarriage in El Salvador, now more to go
After nearly a year campaigning, the first of the 17 women imprisoned for miscarriages and abortion in El Salvador has been pardoned. WIDE+ member CAWN congratulates the Salvadoran Citizen’s Group for the Decriminalization of Abortion for their magnificent work – they are glad to have partnered with them on this campaign from the beginning.
There are still many women unjustly incarcerated in a country that where abortion is banned – international solidarity remains very important to acquit them. For more information:
